Though I’ve fallen into a bit of a reading slump at the moment, all it takes is one glance at my to-read list on Goodreads to remind me what I’m looking forward to.
1. Invaded by Melissa Landers
I read Alienated back at the beginning of the year, and fell in love with Landers’ writing and characters. I’ve never been a huge romance fan, but I adored the first book in this series and cannot wait to get my hands on Invaded.
2. Skin Stealers by A.S Olsoune
Look at that cover! LOOK AT IT! Having read Basalt by this author, I know she has a very refreshing and unique writing style, and this book sounds super awesome. It comes out on the 31st of July, and I suggest adding it to your TBR pile!
3. The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson
I remember falling for this cover before I even read the first book. I saw it on my newsfeed and fell in love, then accidentally read Kiss of Deception without realising what it was. Imagine my delight when I found that this beautiful cover hailed the second in a series I’m already head over heels for! I cannot recommend Kiss of Deception hard enough, and I think it’s time for a reread so I’m ready for this gorgeous number, and then The Beauty of Darkness in 2016!
4. Dreamfever by Kit Alloway
Second in the Dreamfire series, I can’t believe I have to wait a year for this book. Dreamfire is one of my favourite reads of 2015 (a big achievement!) and I need to know how it all wraps up. I hope this series gets a third instalment, because from what I can see on Goodreads, these books need some lovin’. I suggest checking out Dreamfire – you will not be disappointed!
5. Beneath Blood and Bone by Madeline Sheehan and Claire C. Riley
Boy o’ boy. This series has the potential to destroy me. These two authors have perfected the art of winding you around their little fingers and then ripping away everything you love. I shed plenty a tear in Thicker than Blood (these two are not shy about killing off characters!) and I’m a little nervous for the second book in this brutal series about zombies and the monsters people become when left to their own devices. Nevertheless, I NEED IT.
6. Ten Thousand Skies Above You by Claudia Gray
Oh, Claudia. How do you do this, time after time? Creating such beautiful worlds and characters and then combining them with her unique prose, the Firebird series (A Thousand Pieces of You) has to be some of the most beautiful work I’ve come across recently. They are the embodiment of good YA fiction, and my love for this author and her work can only grow. Bring on TTSAY!
I had to limit myself to six books, or this post will just be too long! What books are you looking forward to?
